Let it snow?

You reach a certain age where the magic of snow loses its luster. Apparently though college is not that age. As long as snow can prevent a student from going to class, people will always love the snow. You're never to old to throw cold balls of ice at your peers or make your own variation of frosty the snowman, no matter how untalented you happen to be. You can't ski without snow, nor can you sled.....well you could but neither activities would be nearly as fun. Its all fun and games when it comes to snowfall, that is until you realize you are stuck with these piles of filthy black ice.
While its true that during the initial snowfall everything seems so glorious and joyful, few people realize the many repercussions that come with this frozen nuisance. While it hasn't snowed in days, its still a challenge to drive around with all the snow refusing to melt. Mounds of it await every corning making it a life risking decision every time you have to make a turn. Potholes make it their mission to destroy my already feeble car. Once its all come down, it loses its luster and beauty and becomes these giant piles of dirt, putting a damper on your already difficult travel situation.
Now usually these frozen conditions would be ideal for some good old fashioned pond hockey, yet as it tends to do, the snow prevents that from happening as well. Unless shoveling is something you really enjoy doing, the ponds will be packed down with snow atop the ice. Sure you could wait for the snow to melt, but then so to would the ice that makes hockey possible. It truly is a lose lose situation.
While there are many trivial benefits to the snow, in the end it does a lot more harm then good. Although I will never deny a day off of class, seems like a fair trade off.
